Other keyboard formats?

Having solved the practicalities of screens, cables, keycaps, etc, I assume other formats, e.g. split36, are 'just' a case of designing a new PCB. Are there plans to do this or is it left as an exercise for others? I assume the component templates are all standard.

Basically yes, there are plans for a corne like variant and also for a more traditional row staggered version.
The firmware will also need some adaption. E.g support for home-row mods is very basic, emoji handling is also very tightly tied to the current layout, etc...
