Welcome to the dactyl-build wiki!
Here I will have documented my journey to build my own custom dactyl keyboard
I want to have a curved keyboard at home, because I really like the kinesis advantage I have at work. However, I do think that the advantage does not look very cool, but the dactyl does! Then I got numerous ideas to add to the base dactyl, such as bluetooth and RGB lighting.
- dactyl shape (similar to the kinesis advantage; I have one at work)
- kennykaye's wrist rest
- custom switch layout; mixture of blues, greens and whites
- built-in bluetooth
- built-in USB hub for a mouse. Maybe even for USB sticks / game controllers
- RGB leds, eventually programmable
- Keyboard controllers programmed in rust
- layout toggle (qwerty/dvorak/other?)
- dual kb layout (two halves work independently)
You can also check out the diary I'm keeping while I work on the project and several ideas about programming the keyboard I have.
