Describe the question

I was able to enable video preview for opus files in yazi.toml on v0.3.9 as follows:

This no longer works on v0.4.1. Any ideas how I can debug this easily without pulling out gdb.

You can add ya.dbg to video.lua to debug it.

But your problem sounds a bit weird — there's never been a 0.3.9 version, also, isn't *.opus an audio file format? Why would you assign a video previewer for it?

opus files can have thumbnails.

For example, yt-dlp can embed images to opus: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/blob/11078c6d571673a0f09e21933f4ad1e6fcc35456/yt_dlp/postprocessor/embedthumbnail.py#L202

Previously the video previewer was able to show this thumbnail.

Also, thank you for the link to the docs. I was grepping the source code.
