renaming hello-world directory

I didnt want to put this in issues, so ill put this here.
Is it supposed to happen or when i rename my dir "hello-world" to "hello/world" or "hello/world/", it does nothing.
I was hoping it would making "hello" dir and inside "hello" file or dir(depending on "/" at the end). But it neither did this NOR renamed it. No changes

Just curious, is it expected behaviour or like a bug?
