New primitives coming in near future that builds upon / replaces Svelte action?

Hello lovely people, I came across this thread today. Summary:

Ultimately we don't want to invest more in actions (we have ideas for a better set of primitives) beyond matching what works in Svelte 4 [...]. Too soon to say exactly what they'd look like, but essentially we need a) better programmatic control over element lifecycle (to enable better coordination between different elements, to control when elements can be removed from the DOM, etc) and a syntax that doesn't force you to jump through hoops [...]. Making this stuff spreadable is very much part of the plan.

Very excited to see what's in plan so I started this thread to get some scoop on this as early as possible. If you have some insight into the brains of the Svelte core team (or are one of the brains), please add to the thread.

And now, just a quick love letter to Svelte action because I think it's one of the best API design decision I've come across, for two reasons:

1. It is very clear what its purpose is: for DOM manipulation, that is, to run at runtime, in browser. The fact that people are asking to be able to spread attributes or run action in SSR is a bit absurd, I think, because that's obviously not what the API is designed for. Granted that the need to encapsulate SSR-friendly logic is very real, however.
2. The public API is very minimal. Action provides access to a DOM node, that's it. With purpose and constraints established from (1), code in action can be as minimal and vanilla as it can be. Take a piece of logic from another project and slap it into action, or vice versa, take action code and use in another project, and it might very well just work. As Svelte action doesn't necessarily depend on any special Svelte syntax, it can be very stable in the sense that the API itself has not changed since Svelte 3, and will not at least until Svelte 6. That's more than 5 years and counting, impressive if we count in webdev year.

So, as excited as I am for new primitives to be introduced, I also wonder if Svelte is getting too complicated. All I can hope is for the new primitives to be powerful but still as minimal as possible.
