Investigate split hours on a single day input and display

The David Rumsey map center has 3 to 5 events (symposium or class) a quarter that close the Center to all users except those invited to the event or class. These events are not full day events, but usually an hour or two in the middle of the day.

They would prefer that the hours page indicate that the Center is closed during these events, but they don't want to display "closed" for the entire day. They are requesting a "split schedule" to display - For example, they could show open hours as 8am-noon and 3pm-5pm on a single day.

I've heard this wish from other libraries who encounter staffing issues, and need to close their libraries occasionally for staff lunch breaks.

All that said, most libraries and locations would not want a split schedule to appear. Almost all will prefer to display a simplified [openhour]-[closinghour].

I think this would be a good ticket for some UX thought + design, especially for the endpoints these hours show up (libweb, searchworks, etc).

I know Searchworks would need some changes to support this, and I'd guess libweb would as well.

I'm not sure off-hand how we'd change the administrative functions for adding these split hours in the various ways hours can be added...
