Looks like the margin-left: 10rem is not enough, if it is ok I can move it over looks like 12rem gives a happy medium.

Sure, that might be worth a try. But what about deeper levels?

How alignment is structured is pretty complicated and not really a great solution. If you make a change, make sure to check across various screen sizes, and in particular check how the deepest possible items look, across screen sizes.
