UPGRADE FROM 4.x to 5.0

Deprecations

All the deprecated code introduced on 4.x is removed on 5.0.

Container parameters

We have been using container parameters as undocumented extension points for things like classes and configurations.

In SonataMediaBundle 4.0 those are completely removed and we encourage you to use the default dependency injection override to change the default values for the removed service configurations if you need to.

If you need to change something that you believe it should be handled somehow in configuration, please open an issue and we will discuss it.

Browser and upload route changed

Routes for upload and browser have changed. Keep in mind to change your FOSCkeditorBundle configuration route values.

Old:

admin_app_sonata_media_media_ckeditor_browser
admin_app_sonata_media_media_ckeditor_upload

New:

admin_app_sonata_media_media_browser
admin_app_sonata_media_media_upload

Classes removed

The following classes are removed without being deprecated on 4.x:

Sonata\FormatterBundle\Extension\BaseProxyExtension

FormatterType without event_dispatcher

You no longer have to provide event_dispatcher on the FormatterType options.

Before:

    $form
        ->add('shortDescription', FormatterType::class, [
            'source_field' => 'rawDescription',
            'format_field' => 'descriptionFormatter',
            'target_field' => 'description',
