  • Virtual machine: VMware Workstation v15.5.7 (released in 2020), 1 CPU core, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB HDD, IDE mode.

Steps to reproduce the error

  1. Install One Core API v4.0.4-Hotfix: https://github.com/shorthorn-project/One-Core-API-Binaries/releases/tag/4.0.4-hotfix
  2. Reboot virtual machine.
  3. Launch Windows Task Manager.
  4. See 100% CPU usage by one of two processes vmtoolsd.exe.
