The default font weight is too heavy. I think a lighter one would be much more suited for code, tho I guess it would need a complete manual redesign? Or is there some naive font-weight converter that we could use?

For anyone interested in this, I don't think this repo is actively maintained but my fork has lighter-weight versions (as well as other improvements), with a more limited charset than the current Comic Shanns.

If you're interested in a lighter-weight version with an expanded charset, I'd recommend opening an issue on this fork, which is more actively maintained. I may eventually open a PR to that repo myself that adds a lighter weight, but don't currently have the time to do so.

Also, if you want to make your own, check out FontForge. It offers font-weight conversion options that can be simple to run, but as usual you may want to tweak the results.
