I'd like to spend some time (one week?) doing this,

Don't think it's mission critical BUT it would make for a nice feature to have.

ElasticSearch implementation is a good project for an on-boarding undergrad student to get familiar with the landscape. Can consider a non-essential feature which we could return to in the future.

Describe this implementation in a bit more detail, how you would imagine something like this would be implemented and it's motivation and it's a good idea to keep this up.
