The src/meson.build file has a reference (subdir('gtkpp')) to nonexistent gtkpp. Guess it was meant for code for a specific commit from https://github.com/btryba/gtkpp (?).

Actually, it's auto-generated with a script prepare-gtkpp.sh. I recommend building with build.sh.

That may complicate things for distro packagers. I'm maintaining a RPM package for RPM based Linux distributions. Guess I'll try to find a way for a workaround.
