I am intrigued to find that my Rblog site has grown to 41 posts in three years! I had thought I was analysing hits with a google tag but clearly had made a mess of that. I've now fixed that and the "live" view in Google analytics is now showing my visits (!) I assume that the snapshot takes a day or two build its database before showing analyses. However, I would really like to move away from Google for analytics, I am successfully moving my web sites to other systems. I have a sense that someone will have achieved analytics for a distill blog without using Google so I'd really like not to reinvent the wheel!
Any suggestions? I'd particularly appreciate any advice on code necessary.
TIA,
Chris

Thanks Blaumaus. It looks impressive and I'd like to support something from Ukraine and move from Gurgle but my work is entirely unfunded so I feel reluctant to spend even what seems a very fair price (for funded things). I will think about it.
Thanks, Sadly for me even the cheapest option for Plausible is beyond me (see above). I used Matomo for a while for my web site statistics but ran into problems with it there that led me to drop it (stayed with WPStatistics) and I'd be a bit reluctant to go back there. Still looking but thanks!
