Where is a bug in Logitech G29.

System: Ubuntu 16.04 (I tried both Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 20.04)

Issue: The steering wheel angle (swa) of Logitech G29 can be normally read by jstest-gtk. But the outputted swa by rostopic echo /joy keeps zeros while the swa is near zero. Until the swa is larger than about 10 degrees, the value of swa in rostopic echo /joy starts increasing from 0. Note that the values of brake and throttle can be obtained normally.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

Sounds like it is related to the deadzone parameter (It defaults to 0.05). You can set it to 0.0 but it will also affect all of the axes of the controller.
