The current user interfaces are mostly based on previous Desktop interface implementations (many years ago) and the initial UI capabilities of Dangerzone.
Request
Can the UI be simpler and yet flexible, and without adding too many screens?
I do not know the right answer at this time, as I built Entrusted only for myself originally.
Significant performance compared to Dangerzone, among other features
Personal preferences and opinionated choices that need to be revisited
Overall changes
There's a feeling that it's potentially adding too many screens for a rather simple application.
Is the current state that messy?
Would the effort be really worth it?
The UI itself would be a little bit different than the mock-ups to follow.
User settings
For user settings, most users will never need the "advanced" settings.
Conversions
There could be a different screen for selecting files and then another one during conversions, with the option to go back to add files?
Prior conversions, only the bare minimum widgets required are displayed
The space reserved for the "overall progress" information disappears
In the file conversion queue, there's no need for the progress, status or messages column
During conversions, the area to drop or select files is not visible
There is also no need to display "file selection" buttons
The "password/key" and "save to custom location" icons can disappear in the file conversion queue
When you go back to add new files to convert, you loose access to previous conversion results
