Hi, I'm just a lurker. This question was recently answered in another issue. Apparently the developers chill on Discord (which is excluding people who don't like proprietary, spying software). |

Basically - 2GB+ RAM, 2+ x86-64 CPU cores at 1.5-2.0 GHz minimum, 20+ GB disk on SATA, NVMe, or some SCSI/SAS controllers. UEFI is mandatory. The current graphics code is not accelerated, so it will run on nearly anything but is slow/choppy on lower end systems. It is mostly developed in qemu and Vmware Fusion these days and should run just fine in a QEMU q35 virtual machine. Remember that the desktop is mostly proof of concept today - it's built out of the Apple tech stack we're implementing and provides/consumes those same APIs. It is not really daily-driveable yet. All of that applies to the current FreeBSD-based system. It's also my goal for the upcoming Darwin-based system being developed now. |
