markdown or html?

On the site, we use at times .md and at times .html files for our static pages. It would be good to make it consistent and decide on using either html or markdown, at least for the basic pages (and maybe regardless of what we use for the blog). Thoughts?

HTML will be fine since it provided more functionalities.
