We lost access to the pypi account 'automl' for a short period after an employee departure. We have since recovered the account, see issue : #4694
After recovering the account, we noticed that one of the two packages that this account was an owner of (the ‘pyautogen’ package) is not there anymore. The 'pyautogen' package was linked to this account when we had last access to the account.
The ‘automl’ account was owner on the ‘pyautogen’ package since its creation with releases to the package through the github repo: microsoft/autogen -- all releasees to the packages from v0.01 (8/24/2023) till 8/20/2024 were through the same repo
We requesting access back to the package so that we can continue to maintain it and publish through the original repo: https://github.com/microsoft/autogen/
We have contacted the former employee on 8/21/2024, but they responded that they do not have access to the package anymore.
The former employee directed us to another collaborator, whome we contacted on 9/5/2024. They indicated that they made a release to the package through a fork (v0.03 on 9/5/2024), but told us and announced publicly that they will not use the 'pyautogen' package name anymore and will make releases from their fork to a different package name -- see attachment.
