After installing the v800 downloader as directed in the readme, there are two files named v800_downloader in the folder. One is named v800-downloader, the other v800-downloader.sh. Both start the v800 downloader window when typed in the command line, but only one of them also shows the list of sessions. At the moment, I'm traveling, so I cant test it on my linux system, but I think v800_downloader is the correct one. Also, it does not seem to display the session list if you type sudo v800_downloader. I don't know why. In short: Try several combinations of the v800- files in your folder with and without root privileges. One of them should do the job an display your sessions. I also have the M400 watch.

Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately it didn't work, I tried the different possibilities but none of them worked. I am using the release 6.
I tried to update the watch with the latest firmware (with windows) I think it is version 1.7.

I also tried the Windows version of the software and that didn't work either, so maybe it isn't a Linux issue after all.

Can all sessions be seen in the program ? I had the heart beat monitor and the GPS on and I can't see them in the program
Do you have any ideas ? Am I doing something wrong ?

Hello,

sorry, your problems seems to be a different one. I tried the v800 downloader with windows 10 (worked without any problems, sessions visible) and linux ubuntu 14.04 (there the sessions always appear on the third try or so, but they always appear...). My watch is a M400, it updated it with the most recent firmware just before christmas using polar flow.
The sessions look like this:
[cid:[email protected]]
This is what I typed into the command line:
[cid:[email protected]](the third try with root privileges worked)

For each session, a line appears. The line will contain different data that is finally downloaded, that depends on whether or not you used the heart rate monitor or the gps.
One last thing that fooled me in the beginning: If you connect your watch to polar flow, the session will be uploaded and will be removed from the watch. So perhaps try to record a new session and do not use polar flow (deinstall it if you use windows because it works automatically) before you try the v800 downloader again.

Best regards,

Tina

thank you very much it worked ! I went for a run today I was able to get all my data

I worked on the fourth time or so for me ! I am also thinking that I might have accidentally deleted my older sessions by using Polar Flow.

Thank you very much,

JB
