can't execute code when positron left open for a long time

This is hard to make a reprex for, but i've recently noticed that if i leave a Positron session open for a long time, like over the weekend, and come back on monday morning, i can't run any code. It's not frozen - i can type new code and save, but i can't actually send any code to the console. I can also type in the console just fine but when i press Enter nothing happens. The only thing that works is closing and re-opening Positron.

This only started when i installed a newer version af ew weeks ago. Here is my positron info:

It routinely happens to me too since a few versions.
It's really hard to reproduce (but it happens all the time), and the logs are not helpful at all.

The delay also varies, from a few minutes to anything longer (most noticeable while on a lunch break).

Restarting the Extension Host rarely fixes the issue, Reload Window has a greater success rate, but often I must close and reopen Positron.
I also tried to kill ark.exe, but then it doesn't restart.

The next time you experience this happening, can you find the logs in the output channels for the console, the kernel, and the kernel supervisor and attach them here for us to see? You can click "Open Output in Editor", then do "Reveal in Finder" or equivalent, and then attach the file to the GitHub discussion.

i actually left my non-resposnive session open after i made this post, here are the Outputs (username and project names changed since this is my work laptop). I did notice this interesting line in the at the bottom of the kernel supervisor output: Session 'R 4.4.0' disconnected while in state 'idle'. This is unexpected; checking server status.

Thanks, those logs are really helpful! It looks like the websocket connection between Positron and the kernel is getting disconnected. It is not clear why that's happening, but since the logs show that the other side of the connection is healthy, it should be possible for Positron to reconnect it. I'll open an issue to track this.

It's the same issue I'm having.
I have just been "disconnected" while working on a detached Viewer tab, only the main console was idling for ~5 minutes.
