Scrolling on desktop does not work beside main feed content #481

I'm not sure if this is a bug or enhancement, but when on desktop and trying to mouse scroll (Mac, Magic Mouse) it doesn't work when hovering in the "gutter" beside the main content feed - you have to be hovering over the main content or it won't scroll at all.

Confirming. This is unexpected - allowing scrolling while mouse pointer is left or right of the main content feed would be welcome.
