Setup multiple accounts on Polar for the same GitHub organization (different repositories) #3497

No worries at all @cbartondock – in this particular case I moved it to discussions, but feel free to always share wherever and it's easy for us to move :) Thanks for reaching out about this particular use case. Unfortunately, we don't support this level of granular account setup on Polar at the moment. Polar Organizations are mapped to GitHub organizations and user profiles 1:1. However, we're intending to decouple our organization structure with that of GitHub in the coming months. Offering the ability to create more flexible and new organizations on Polar and then connect them to organizations/repositories on GitHub. Our data model still requires only 1-1 relationships between repositories and organizations. However, it's feasible to imagine at least that multiple Polar organizations could be mapped to the same GitHub organization, but different repositories in that setup. I'll reference this discussion in the issue for the decoupling so that we can bare this in mind as we approach it. In the meantime, I'd recommend the following:
Challenge is the Stripe payout account. Not sure how well you know & trust each other to setup one that might be explicitly intended for you at the moment? Otherwise, if it's issue funding you're after it's possible to leverage rewards to ensure a 100% split is rewarded to your personal account |

This is part issue part support question, and may belong somewhere else (apologies if so). It would be nice if different polar accounts could be used for different repositories that are all part of the same organization. Often a Github organization is composed of a few individuals who maintain different but related repositories, each of which should have separate funding.
In my case I maintain https://github.com/SteamGridDB/steam-rom-manager, which is a part of the https://github.com/SteamGridDB organization (which I am not the owner of). When attempting to install the github app for polar.sh (coordinating with the owner of SteamGridDB), it seems it is only possible for him to link the app to polar.sh/SteamGridDB, even though I submitted the request from polar.sh/cbartondock.
