Is this a feature for the backend or frontend?

Frontend

What would you like?

I'd like to be able to configure recurring tasks on the Planka Kanban board. This feature would enable users to set specific tasks to automatically regenerate based on a defined schedule (e.g., weekly, monthly, etc.), eliminating the need to manually recreate them each time they’re due.

Why is this needed?

With this feature, I'd be able to automate the creation of routine or regular tasks that I need to complete on a repeating basis. For example, if I need to test a certain process or check system health every week, a recurring task would save time and ensure consistency by automatically appearing in the task list when needed. This would reduce the risk of these tasks being forgotten or delayed due to the hassle of manually recreating them.

Currently, each recurring task must be manually duplicated or recreated, which can be time-consuming and easy to overlook, particularly for teams juggling multiple tasks and projects.

Other information

This feature would benefit teams and individuals who rely on Planka for project management, particularly in roles with standard operating procedures, quality assurance, regular check-ins, or ongoing testing that require adherence to a consistent schedule
