So just as an example I used the pokemon song played at 50% speed it hits every note however when I speed it up it will start to skip notes. Also like a previous poster stated the slider is BPM and not percent speed of midi.

Could be a problem with FPS and the game not catching every note. Focus on the game window while the song is playing helps. New patch might also have improved this situation.
The speed slider is by percentage.
