Can I user a commonEmmiter and on in a thread

Hi,

I am trying to wait on an event in the worker when its emmited from the parent using a commonEmmiter, its not working at all even though the event is being fired and picked up elsewhere, should I be able to do this or do I need to think of another mechanism?
