this is probably not AFT specific...

would be ideal to have some visual/audible warning whenever the S700 is either powered on or that drive axis is enabled.

Currently a standalone yellow flashing light is mounted to the top of the resistor cabinet. It is battery powered with a manual switch. It is not particularly visible. It relies on A) batteries healthy, B) operator remembers to turn it on, C) it is bright enough to actually be seen, D) a passerby actually understands what it is exactly the flashing light is suppose to mean.

Automating this function, and hardwiring into some power supply, eliminates A-C.

An illuminated sign that says "carriage operational" (sort of like the "Lasers in Use" lights) and/or an audible siren (like a truck's backup horn) would be a great safety feature.
