Missing pages when using mkdocs-with-pdf

I am trying to render the amazing https://books.japila.pl/spark-sql-internals/ as a single PDF, but the result contains only a subset of the https://github.com/japila-books/spark-sql-internals
document.pdf

also the sitemap is significantly larger than the pdf

From my experience it could be related to the version of weasyprint and pydyf used by the plugin (more info on the issue #157 ).

But it could also be related to the mkdocs-with-pdf plugin configuration you used in mkdocs.yml or the plugin mkdocs-minify-plugin since it change the HTML after the site generation and that mkdocs-with-pdf make use of the HTML tags to find the content it need to render as PDF. Could try to use mkdocs-with-pdf with basic configuration and all others plugin disabled to see if it caused the problem.

@Thiti517 you were right after I disabled the plugins it worked correctly, I wonder if it is the redirect macros? https://github.com/japila-books/spark-sql-internals/blob/main/mkdocs.yml#L76

You may wish to try the maintained fork, mkdocs-to-pdf:

pip install mkdocs-to-pdf

We found that the newest weasyprint plus pydyf were indeed the issue:

Although when building the mkdocs-material docs to PDF, we have still found that pages are lost in this version. Although that's the only doc we've seen the issue with.

Hi @mkrolavs ,

We've only noticed missing pages so far in the actual mkdocs-material documentation itself.

Our own documentation written for mkdocs-material doesn't have this issue, and has all the pages generated:

@domWalters, thanks for your response! I reinstalled and updated all plugins, and now everything works like a charm - even with 1000+ files.

However, I did notice one issue: if a Markdown file includes an image with a height that exceeds the size of a single page, the PDF rendering stops at that point and the rest of the content doesn’t show up. Resizing the image to fit within a page solved it for me, but I figured it might be worth flagging in case others run into the same thing - or if there's a way to handle oversized images more gracefully.
