I have an installation that has been installed with softaculous and I don't know how to upgrade. Can you tell me how I can do that without loosing information ?

hi, you might need to migrate to a new setup (maybe with docker-compose?) and use the backup / restore functionality of tine to migrate your data. I don't know if softaculous has support for creating backups. you can go to the tine docs and check the migration / install pages there: https://tine-docu.s3web.rz1.metaways.net/operators/Installation_Guide/
or you could try to install the new tine code from the tarball on your softaculous server and run the update script manually.

Hello Philipp Thanks for your reply. I can’t use docker-compose and don’t have ssh access so I tried to extract the tar.bz2 That worked well for version 2023.11.15 but with 2024.11.4 something goes really wrong. setup.php doesn’t update the applications and says the data has gone. I noticed also that the database doesn’t have the same fields anymore for contacts. So this version doesn’t seem to be an upgrade but a new version. Also when logging in there is the message Tine @ trial Please contact Metaways Infosystems GmbH to buy a valid license. Does this mean that tine isn’t open source anymore ? I already read the installation guide but without ssh it’s not possible to follow the instructions. I hope it’s possible for you to help me with a extractable version ? Thanks Mieke

I managed to get ssh access but can't install Docker. Which is the update script that I should lance on the server once the tarball is extracted ?
Should I first empty the existent installation in order to have only the new files (off course with replacing the old config file)?

It seems to me that the documentation about the database https://tine-docu.s3web.rz1.metaways.net/operators/howto/tine20AdminDatabase/ is outdated. At least it doesn't help me with this problem.

no, tine is still opensource but limited to 5 users without a license. it is possible to get a free beta / community license, if needed.

it should be something like (or you could access setup.php via browser):

php /path/to/tine/setup.php --config /path/to/config.inc.php --update
