need help with understanding nemo file dates

Don't even know if it's a bug or where to report it if it is.

Say you have a txt file. There are 3 dates for it in nemo. "Last opened", "created" and "modification date"

You would imagine that the "last opened" date is always updated when you well, open the file. That's however not always the case since I tested it few times before it finally updated it as you can see on the screen above. I also had to use the F5 to refresh nemo.

Now, when you add a new line of text to this file in xed it suddenly changes all the dates after you save it:

Why?
I understand changing the "last opened" and "modification date" since that's what happened, but why update the creation date?
Is it maybe an error in the translation?
Can we disable the "last opened" date in Linux Mint for the main drive or is it needed for something?
