Unfortunately, it's not possible with Gala at the moment. There's no stable Wayland protocol for manipulating monitor gamma, and I'm not sure whether we want to implement wl-roots' one |

Hey,
I really like the new Wayland session, it's super fast! But I'm missing software brightness control.
My problem:
My monitors' minimum brightness is very bright, so I need software dimming to make them comfortable at night.
What I used to do:
I used to use this app for the X11 session: https://github.com/panosx2/brightness
It used
xrandrto adjust brightness and worked perfectly. What I've tried on Wayland:
wlsunset- gives error "compositor doesn't support wlr-gamma-control"redshift- fails with "Failed to start adjustment method wayland"gammastep- same errorMy question:
Is there any way to get software brightness control working on Wayland? Or is this just not possible yet with Gala?
I don't want to go back to X11, but I really need this feature.
Thanks!
