Summary

When a Sunshine streaming session is terminated from any connected device, all other Moonlight clients currently show an error popup/stopping screen stating that the connection was terminated. This is expected behavior, but in some usage scenarios it becomes disruptive.

Problem

I frequently connect to Sunshine from multiple devices (e.g., phone, tablet, PC).
Sometimes I intentionally terminate the session from Device A while still using Device B.

However, when this happens:

• Moonlight immediately displays a connection error popup
• The session ends abruptly instead of returning smoothly to the app list
• There is no setting to make this fail silently

Requested Feature

Add an optional setting in both Sunshine and Moonlight:

“Silent Session Termination / Graceful Disconnect”

When enabled:

• Moonlight should return to the main app list without showing any error dialog
• Sunshine should close the session gracefully without sending a disruptive termination error

Why This Matters

This improves:

• Multi-device usage
• Home-server setups where more than one family member has access
• Situations where you intentionally kill a session remotely (battery saving, switching displays, etc.)

Proposed Behavior

• If the session is ended normally (not a network error), clients should have the option to treat it as a clean exit.
• If network failure occurs, the standard error popup can still be shown.
• This could be a toggle like:
  • Moonlight: “Suppress disconnect error messages”
  • Sunshine: “Graceful termination flag”

Additional Notes

This feature already exists in some remote-desktop software (e.g., Steam Remote Play can exit quietly), and would make Sunshine/Moonlight more flexible for multi-device users.
