Description of issue

I am currently using
system "go", "build", *std_go_args(ldflags:), "./cmd/main.go" because when using system "go", "build", "-o hack/switch/switcher", *std_go_args(ldflags:), "./cmd/main.go" it never renders the binary in hack/switch/switcher. I was trying to use this output in order to do the bin.install and avoid versioned [email protected] binaries being built.

std_go_args has an optional output argument you can pass: std_go_args(output: bin/"switcher")

Is there a way to write this so it would do the linking properly?
For example if I'm using the latest formula it would be bin/"switcher"... if I'm using SwitcherAT091 then it would be bin/"[email protected]", if I'm using SwitcherAT072 it would be bin/"[email protected]" for example? I think the ability to run different versions by calling different binaries is useful possibly but would need a way for things like generate_completions_from_executable(bin/"switcher", "completion", base_name: "switcher") to work when you are installing a version of a formula.
Or maybe when you install a version of a formula it creates a link from the current version binary that gets added like [email protected] to switcher with link... so it would update the brew unlink/link and then the generate_completions_from_executable would update completions based on the current version installed.
I could then unlink/link between versions but if I'm installing a new version most likely I'm going to want to create the link to that new version installed.

That comes from bin.install "switcher". Get rid of it; you don't need it.
