Possibility to add expire date for History (per connection)

In the vast majority of cases, I share my files for a short time - a week or two. I can delete expired files from different types of servers in different ways. But at the same time, there are records in the History of the uploads that have to be removed manually.

It would be great to have option for autoclean History records per connection.

I have refrained from implementing automatic file deletion in the app for a number of reasons. First of all, deleting a file is a destructive, for most storage providers irreversible action. Chances are high that there will be cases where files get deleted which the user actually wanted to keep, but just forgot about automatic deletion. I would prefer to avoid that. Additionally, the feature would obviously only work if the app was running.

I always thought that the feature would add a lot of complexity, given that it is a rather simple use case, and I was unsure whether users will be able to understand it easily. In the past months, the feature has been requested several times through various channels tho, so I might reconsider my opinion on that.

Perhaps I have formulated my idea incorrectly. It is not about deleting files. It is about automatic, after a period of time, deleting an entry from History.

Thanks for clarifying. Eventually, I think both cases are valid: Having an upload deleted from history (to clean up the local upload history) while also having the option to have the file deleted from the server. I will look into it.
