Describe the bug

See attached screenshot.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. I go to ALS and select Discover together with logstash-*
  2. See the error message (Bad escaped character) even without any specific filter or field selections

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

OpenSearch Version
Looks like v 2.15.0

Plugins

I don't know

This issue seems to be completely Browser and OS independent.

Sometimes clicking on 'New' resolves the issue temporarily, sometimes it doesn't
