[SPEC2006] error: null must be a pointer type @buffer_1_1 = internal global [512 x i8] null, align 1 #32

spec2k6 456.hmmer build fail.
one of the errors can be reproduce by the following code:

char *foo()
{
  static char buffer[512];
  static char *sptr = buffer;
  return sptr;
}

cmd

xcalcc -c a.c

error:
