RARP instead of DHCP

Hello!

I have some worker nodes that just cannot boot any more, they stubbornly refuse to send DHCP brodcasts, but are happily pushing out RARP packets like it's 1984.

Is this by design? I couldn't find any explanation for this behaviour in the documentation or the forums. How might I get these nodes to send DHCP packets again?
