BUG: Embedded open behavior breaks selectorHtml extraction #660

Description

Version:

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2
  • Browser: Mozilla Firefox
  • Web Clipper version: 0.12.0
  • Obsidian version: 1.11.2

Describe the bug

When I use the embedded open behavior (General -> Advanced -> Open behavior: Embedded), extracting data via selectorHtml becomes impossible because it returns nothing.

When I change the open behavior back to popup, everything works as it used to.

Expected behavior

I didn’t expect changing the “open behavior” setting to break my templates.

URLs where the bug occurs

It happens everywhere, as far as I can tell. While looking for a solution to missing parts in my template, I mostly used YouTube as a testing ground.

To reproduce

  1. Change “open behavior” to embedded.
  2. Open a YouTube video (or any other page).
  3. Click the Clipper add-on icon to grab and process data.
  4. Observe missing parts in the note preview.
  5. Change the setting back to popup.
  6. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
  7. Observe that everything works again.

Your template file

Not really applicable— even {{selectorHtml:body|markdown}} behaves as described above.
