If these guidelines are for newcomers then we should explain what does "dotted syntax" means.

Or provide some reference to the samples of it. E.g. http://docs.intersystems.com/cache20152/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls?KEY=RCOS_cdo_legacy
