Better error message when installing a file name instead of the directory #8977
Description
I want to import definitions, so I entered the path to a file instead of the directory. Of course, it said no package.json. It would take a few lines of code to say I typed in a pathname instead of the directory. This would give me a solution and not confuse me, since I was already in the wrong mindset.
