Migrate from XML to Inheritance model?

Hi, I'm working with an old DevOps server 2019 build, which is running XML work-flow, and slightly modified.

I can't seem to find in the documentation any example to show this type of migration.
Perhaps I need to do a collection -> collection migration?

Hi,

You must create a new Team Project Collection with a new Team Project to migrate your existing Team Project into. See the following page Create and manage inherited page.

There is an out of the box process for migrating within the same account between the old Hosted XML model and the new Inherited model.

Respectfully, this is not an appropriate answer for On-Premises Azure DevOps Server. The original post explicitly notes ADO Server, where there is no Out-Of-The-Box process model migration for existing collections.

First, when I posted this answer years ago I was not aware that it did not work on server. Second, for most people the correct answer is to move to the service. There they will get lots of additional features not available on-prem.

There are not any good reasons to still be running a server, but there are plenty of reasons.

If you are on-prem you would have to migrate to a new project. For which you can use this tool.
