How different is the GS716TPP from the 3xx series? Worth trying?

Ouh, good question. I don't know the GS716TPP.

You might want to google for netgear GS316 admin ui and compare the pictures with the admin UI your GS716 has.
The more similar, the easier to copy & paste & adopt from existing code.

From my experience, the biggest challenge always was to tweak the HTML parser to find the right values, and ignoring the human translations (e.g. we can't rely on labels, since they will be translated).
Also the changes from GS30x to GS316 was already relatively big, considering this is the same model/series and just has double the amount of ports.

If have little time to work on ntgrrc, but in case you want to try, I could share some helpful experiences / practices I used in the past. (please ping/dm in case of interest).
