How to get the number of columns of a table in a Word document?

I didn't find the answer to this in this link, in the Xceed.DocX library, getting the number of columns in a table is simple: table.ColumnCount, I don't know how the NPOI can do that, to access the Cells.Count of the first row of the table, what if there are merged cells in the first row? I need the real column count, not the visual column count.
