How to allow an intercepted binding to "passthrough" to other applications?

So I have this binding in my config:

alt-1 = 'workspace-1'

I would like aerospace to invoke the workspace-1 command, but also let the alt + 1 input be sent to the system so that other applications can listen to it. Is it possible to do this?
Something like

alt-1 = ['workspace 1', 'passthrough']

I tried some hacks like below, but to no avail

# mode foo does not actually exist in my config
alt-1 = ['workspace 1', 'trigger-binding --mode foo alt-1']

Just to make sure I'm not asking for something dumb, my only goal with this would be to allow klack to play keyboard sounds when I press alt-1 😆 Right now invoking any aerospace commands results in a silent keypress
