Describe the bug
Videos are playing upside down in nextcloud web player

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Upload a video file
  2. Generate preview
  3. Attempt to play video, at which point you'll notice it plays upside down

Expected behavior
Video to not play upside down (rotated 180 degrees)

  • OS: MacOS
  • Browser: Chrome
  • Version: 131.0.6778.86

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: [e.g. iPhone6]
  • OS: [e.g. iOS8.1]
  • Browser [e.g. stock browser, safari]
  • Version [e.g. 22]

Open your console, reload your page and/or do the action leading to this issue and copy/paste the log in this thread.
How to access your browser console (Click to expand)

Chrome

  • Press either CTRL + SHIFT + J to open the “console” tab of the Developer Tools.
  • Alternative method:
    1. Press either CTRL + SHIFT + I or F12 to open the Developer Tools.
    2. Click the “console” tab.

Safari

  • Press CMD + ALT + I to open the Web Inspector.
  • See Chrome’s step 2. (Chrome and Safari have pretty much identical dev tools.)

IE9

  1. Press F12 to open the developer tools.
  2. Click the “console” tab.

Firefox

  • Press CTRL + SHIFT + K to open the Web console (COMMAND + SHIFT + K on Macs).
  • or, if Firebug is installed (recommended):
    1. Press F12 to open Firebug.
    2. Click on the “console” tab.

Opera

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + I to open Dragonfly.
  2. Click on the “console” tab.

Additional context
I'm using Nextcloud AIO v10.0.0 with Nextcloud Hub 9 v30.0.2

FYI, Discourse is suddenly having this problem as well on Chrome+MacOS so it may be a browser problem

(we haven't investigated yet)

@Supermathie did you ever figure out what the issue was? I was also seeing this in the Immich app, but they fixed it somehow - immich-app/immich#13519

Nope, I'm not really touching it after triage.

We did note that it seems to be consistently playing upside-down in Chrome and upside-up in Safari, so it's probably a Chrome problem.
