I seem to repeatedly get both errors 31 and 995, even with redoing all the guide's steps. Would that be a problem on my end or are others getting this?

Are you on Windows ? Error 31 is normal then - I don't know what error 995 is. On Windows I personnally have a 95% success rate.

Could you give me the full logs ?

And yes I am on Windows.

Post-smash errors are normal - Linux should boot shortly after the CBFS section has been sent regardless of what happens next.

Linux boots SOMETIMES then goes to a black screen and stays.

Is it a RCM black screen or just a black screen ?

Just a black screen.

I'd say it comes from your SD card, try with another one if you can

Without UART I'm afraid we won't be able to diagnose what's going on here
