so maybe what i'm thinking about is more like a content credential anyways (in the storacha sense of the word-- a small envelope that contains the CID for the object itself, as well as the content-type for dataURI-ifying it which could be automated) to put it another way, what's the use case for a would the multibase turn |
i think there are 3 things we might imagine in mapping between a cid and a data uri: your options would be:

In a thread on Filecoin's public slack, @willscott suggested a deterministic translation between other forms of CIDv1 and dataURIs used commonly in modern browsers for JS embeds, caching image asset downloads, etc. This seems to dovetail with usecases explored by LUCID, so I will likely be proposing at least a FAQ entry, maybe also some entries in multicodec or multibase in a PR in the coming weeks.
