If you start playing music in chrome again it doesn't work? On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, Kevin Glowacz [email protected] wrote:

Just going to Google Music after using Instacast doesn’t make the media keys work. However if I quit Instacast, then the media keys start working in Google Music. Re-launching Instacast makes the media keys fail to work in Google Music again. On Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 12:04 PM, Michael Feldstein wrote:

Yeah, I understand. I think this might be instacast specific. After un-toggling the "Enable Apple Media Keys" preference in Instacast, Chrome Media keys works again (while still in the middle of a song playing). Interestingly, it seems like there are times when something other than Instacast gains control like Quicktime or something (after playing a video) in which I need to toggle that preference in Instacast to get it to regain control. I've also modified my rcd a la https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2122639?start=270&tstart=0, but I don't think that would affect this. |
After using another app that uses the media keys (Such as Instacast) there is no way to get the media keys controlled by chrome again.
