Reduce unnecessarily large images on website #418
Description
We need to save space on the website to reduce our bandwidth usage. As a first task, we should reduce the size of splash-bg (1MB) and code-bg (500K). These can be cropped and probably reduced slighting in resolution and quality to save space. We don't want to lose visual fidelity in the process.
