allow cut ropes to start extending from bottom again

I think it would be very useful to allow ropes that have had their bottom cut off to somehow restart extending, such as maybe when the bottom is shift-punched or something. This prevents needing to replace the rope box and wait for the rope to re-extend, which can take a long time.
