vs code workspace files are stored differently than the chats
vs code chats are stored differently depending on if workspace has remote connection.
vs code autosaves are different than manual saves

any one of those 3 is bad, but to combine them is very bad.

Non deterministic saving behavior is bad, you should feel ashamed, and be actively punished
